Campers on Mission Serve in Marshalltown

By Jon Olsen
 on April 3, 2018

By Rick Mott,

On March 31st Campers on Mission had the opportunity to serve at Calvary Baptist Church in Marshalltown, IA. Their needs included adding some receptacles in the kitchen, and other areas in the church for technology upgrades. Pastor Matt Johnson, along with his wife Libby, and some of the church members pitched in to help. This was a one day project, so we did not actually camp, but still it was fun!!! Even the kids had fun. Thanks to ALL who came.

Iowa Campers On Mission does repairs to churches. The church provides the material and allows COM to park their campers at the church. Let them know if your church needs help. They enjoy serving the Lord and helping small churches. If you would like to help COM fulfill their mission of helping churches with their building and repair needs you should give Campers on Mission a try. You don’t need a camper to join.

Campers On Mission Rally at Muscatine Baptist Chapel

By Jon Olsen
 on October 19, 2017

Iowa Campers on Mission worked at Muscatine Baptist Chapel in Muscatine, Iowa.  The weather was nasty but our hearts were willing.  Seven members attended to remove an old handicap ramp and install a new one.  We started on Monday in the rain and we completed the ramp on Saturday in the rain.  The fellowship and food was good as usual and we were glad God gave us this opportunity.

COM doesn’t have any other projects scheduled until next May.  We will let you know where and when.

If your church needs a fresh look or some small repairs let us know.  We’d also like to have others join us in this ministry.  Be sure and check out the promotional table at the state

Campers On Mission Fall Rally 2017 at Pine Lake Camp

By Jon Olsen
 on September 27, 2017

Iowa Campers on Mission recently went to Pine Lake Camp in Eldora, Iowa.  We had five in attendance but accomplished much work for a wonderful church camp that ministers to many children and adults.  Some of the work we did was: siding on three buildings, mow the property, prepare a garage floor for cement, prepare a building site for a new maintenance building, trim trees, and clean several rooms for an upcoming women’s retreat.  As usual, the food and fellowship were great.

Our next rally will be at Muscatine Baptist Chapel in Muscatine, Iowa from Oct 9-13.   We will be removing a handicap ramp and installing a new one.  If you would like to help please contact me.  Denny Davis@515-729-9983 or Bev Davis @515-729-9982.  If you are able to do maintenance or repair work you will enjoy Campers On Mission.  It saves churches and camps the labor cost.

When we finished in Iowa two couples from Iowa went to Missouri to help Missouri COM at a church camp.  More fun, fellowship, and work for the Lord.

Iowa Campers On Mission Spring Rally

By Jon Olsen
 on May 25, 2017

Iowa Campers On Mission (COM) recently went to Calvary Baptist Church in Clinton, Iowa.  We had nine Iowa COM members in attendance plus two couples from Missouri COM.  This was the most Iowa members we have had in several years.  Praise the Lord.  We couldn’t have done all the work at this church without help from Missouri COM.  A big THANK YOU to Missouri COM for lending a hand.  Several new light fixtures were installed, a lot of painting to both the parsonage and the church, some soffit repair, and several other tasks.  A special thank you to Rick (the good electrician) and Sarah Mott on their first road trip with Iowa COM.  As usual, the food and fellowship were great.  We also enjoyed games and the pastor’s musical leading during our devotional times.  The pastor’s son also performed on the piano for everyone.  The next rally will be September 11-15 but we have not committed to a location yet.

Iowa COM does repairs to churches.  The church provides the material and allows us to park our campers at your church.  Let us know if your church needs help. We enjoy serving the Lord and helping small churches. We possibly could do other dates if necessary. COM information can be found here.  If you would like to help with Campers on Mission please contact Denny Davis @ 515-729-9983 or Bev Davis @ 515-729-9982 or bevdavis615@q.com.

By Jon Olsen
 on October 6, 2016

com-fall-16-03

Campers On Mission just completed their Fall Rally at Shiloh Baptist Church in Waterloo, installing paneling and a drop ceiling, a small section of siding and a soffit and working on some signs. Campers on Mission has recently completed work at at churches in Altoona, Ida Grove, Ossian, Knoxville, Fairbanks, Stuart, and many others.

Campers on Mission is a volunteer group of Christians that do repairs in churches.  The church provides the material and lets the group park at the church with their campers, and they do the work for free. This small group of faithful servants will usually serve in May and September. For larger projects they are sometimes joined by friends from Missouri Campers On Mission who will come to help.

If you have repairs or projects at your church that Campers On Mission could help you with, please let them know. They can’t come and help if they don’t know your needs. Please contact Dave Short at 641-275-2341, Denny Davis at 515-729-9983, or Rev. Claude McFerron at 515-277-5044 to learn more and schedule a time for Campers On Mission to visit your church.

Iowa Campers On Mission serve at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Altoona

By Jon Olsen
 on June 2, 2016

By Bev Davis

Iowa Campers on Mission (COM) served at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Altoona from May 9-13th. We had a great time doing improvements to the church. The main project was installing new cabinets in the kitchen. We also installed a new storm door, painted the outside where needed, replaced some exterior siding, and enjoyed some great food and fellowship during the week.

Thank you to all who provided food. We would like to recognize a new couple who joined COM for this rally, John and Glenna Goldermann from Bettendorf.

Thanks to Dave Short for having the kitchen ready for us. He had put the all the drywall in and electric. The kitchen was ready for us to finish. They had a lot of great cabinets donated to them and we stained the new ones to make more cabinets for the kitchen crew. Several former Campers on Mission crew also came on Thursday to help for awhile  and we’d like to thank them also.

Our next rally is September 12-16. We don’t have a location yet. If your church is in need of some repairs, painting, updating; give us a call. We’d love to serve God in helping your church. You supply the material and we do the work.

Call Dave Short at 641-275-2341, or Denny Davis at 515-729-9983 for information about joining Campers On Mission or having COM serve at your church.

By Jon Olsen
 on October 8, 2015

by Bev Davis

COM01Iowa Campers On Mission (COM) returned to Melcher-Dallas for our Fall Rally September 14-18. COM members continued to help remodel the church. We spent the week taping and mudding the dry wall in the basement. It was a lot of work but looks good now. Five members were there to help plus pastor Rob, Ryan and deacon Dave. Our next rally will be May 9-13, 2016.

If your church needs some work done, or you would like to be a part of COM please contact us. We would like to have a church scheduled several months before the rally so it can be advertised, and so that we will be able to bring the right equipment. If the job is larger than we can handle there is a possibility we could ask MO Campers on Mission to come and help us again.

Campers On Mission Visits Melcher Dallas and Mt. Vernon

By Jon Olsen
 on November 19, 2014

Campers on Mission (COM) recently went to the town of Melcher Dallas to help Lacona Baptist Church do some work on their building. There is a lot of work yet to be done, but this addition will allow a furnace to be installed.

If your church needs some help or if anyone would like to be a part of Campers on Mission please contact Denny Davis at 515-729-9983 or dennisdavis_84@q.com.
