Harvest Apologetics

One of the most common statements made by believers in the American church is “I want to share my faith but I do not feel equipped to do so.” This is unfortunate but so often true. God tells us in 1 Peter 3:15 to always be prepared to give a defense for the Gospel.  It is our calling as Jesus-followers to go into the world and lovingly engage people with answers to their questions from God’s Word in hopes they will put their faith in Him as Lord and Savior.  This is why Harvest Bible Chapel has stepped out in faith to begin an Apologetics Training Center.  We hope these ongoing courses will aid believers to go back to their churches and communities with confidence in their knowledge of the Scriptures and ignite greater impact for the Kingdom of God.

This first course is titled “God Speaks: Why we can trust the Bible.”  If you think about it, literally almost everything we know about God, ourselves and the Gospel comes from the pages of the Holy Scriptures. We must begin with the source by which we receive our beliefs. This course is designed to enable one to give reasonable evidence from the Bible and beyond as to why we can trust what it says is from the Creator and therefore authoritative for all.

The three classes are as follows:
  • May 6: Canonicity: What belongs in the Bible and what does not?
  • May 13:  Inerrancy & Authority: Can I trust every word in the Bible is from God and without errors?
  • May 27: Sufficiency, Clarity & Necessity: What other holy writings besides the Bible do we need in order to know God and how to please Him? Do I need a bible degree to understand the Bible? If I do not read the Bible, so what?
All classes are held at Harvest Bible Chapel in Grimes, IA.
