Over 70 people joined together on Saturday, September 12th at New Bridge Church in Winterset to hear 14 current or former North American Mission Board or International Mission Board missionaries.
Nations and ministries represented included:
- Tanzania, Barbados/St. Lucia
- Asia/South Korea
- Fusion Training Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
- Taiwan
- Malawi/Kenya
- Uganda
- Friendship Baptist Center, Des Moines.
Twelve children received gift bags after speaking with missionaries and collecting autographs in their missions’ passport booklets. Pastor Mike Carlson of New Bridge, Paul Porter of Van Meter and Eugene Guthrie of Crestwood shared testimonies of their church’s mission partnerships with IMB missionaries in Uganda and Peru. Breakout sessions dealt with cross cultural evangelism, customs and traditions in other nations, preparing for volunteer mission opportunities, missions is more than money and family life of missionaries on the field, to name just a few. Dr. Lee Miller and his wife Debbie concluded the meeting sharing a mission challenge with the attendees.
