Lead Pastor Couple $100
Additional Pastoral Staff Couple $150
We would like to personally invite BCI pastors and their wives to a retreat April 23-25, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Downtown, 1050 6th Avenue, Des Moines. This weekend is designed to be one of relaxing, reconnecting, and refreshing by sharing good food, good company, good worship, and good teaching.
The Baptist Convention of Iowa is going to cover the majority of the cost for this event. The cost to lead pastors is $100. The cost for additional pastoral staff is $150. Registration fees are per couple and include 2 nights lodging, 1 banquet dinner, 2 breakfasts, and 1 lunch. Fees are due at the time of registration. Friday evening has been set aside as an ‘on-your-own’ date night. Space is limited, so register early. Registration deadline is April 1st.
Our featured speaker will be Pastor Troy Nesbitt from Cornerstone Church of Ames. Troy moved to Iowa with his family when his father, Tom Nesbitt began as pastor at Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Ames in 1976. After Troy graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Boliver, Missouri Troy became the director of the Baptist Student Union in Ames in 1987. The ministry flourished under Troy’s leadership and was renamed the Salt Company. In 1994 Troy and several others from Grand Avenue Baptist Church started Cornerstone Church in Ames. Cornerstone and the Salt Company have actively focused on reaching the “next generation” and have become a leading ministry in Iowa. In 2008 Cornerstone began church planting in Iowa and have helped to start several new churches and Salt Company student ministries across the state. At the Pastor and Wive’s retreat, Troy will be encouraging pastors and sharing lessons learned over the years and help us to refine and expand our our ministry to Iowa’s next generation.
If you are unable to attend, please consider sponsoring another couple.
Registration and sponsorship may be completed online at BCIowa.org/PastorsRetreat.
We look forward to seeing you there!
