Relief efforts are still underway in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan destroyed many areas. You can be a part of helping Filipinos put their lives back together. Here are three ways you can get involved:

1. Pray

Pray for all International Mission Board missionaries involved in the rebuilding of homes and lives. Ask God to give them grace, strength and wisdom for the tasks before them.

Remember Carl and Suzie Miller who have undertaken the task of bringing long-term relief to Leyte and Samar islands. Follow Greg and Jill Harvell on Facebook for prayer requests and the progress of reconstruction as they coordinate volunteer teams and partner to rebuild the city of Ormoc.

Pray for Adore and Hope Sabido, national believers who are leading out and bringing much-needed aid to communities. Pray for the Sabidos as they help the island of Gibitngil with long-term project such as plant nurseries and sustainable agriculture.

Pray for Baptist volunteers as they rebuild homes and help restore communities. Pray for opportunities for volunteers to talk about their faith and the hope they have in Christ. Pray for open hearts among the Filipino communities they are reaching.

2. Give

Your gifts make a difference in the lives of countless Filipinos. Here are a few projects you can support financially:

2014 Gibitngil Agriculture Recovery Project helps people on the island of Gibitngil begin to plant their own food.
2014 Bohol Rebuilding Project helps Antequera, a community on the island of Bohol, rebuild two classrooms of the school as well as rebuild the entire community.
These two projects will build on the relationships that were developed through the relief and rebuilding projects as well as partner with the municipality to develop the community’s resources to improve the standard of living.

3. Go

Several Baptist state conventions have adopted areas of the central Philippines. The Georgia, South Carolina, California, Nebraska and Kansas conventions have adopted areas. Other state conventions are actively sending volunteer teams.
