The Iowa Woman’s Missionary Union will be holding its Annual Meeting on Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Sheraton Inn, 1800 50th St., West Des Moines, from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Iowa WMU welcomes all women who have a heart for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through their local church, into their community, across North America and throughout the world.  They are following the example of the group of women who followed Jesus and ministered to him two thousand years ago as they pray for and encourage their pastors and missionaries, nurture and teach the next generation, and raise support for missions through special offerings.

During the WMU Annual Meeting the group will elect officers for the 2015-16 year, make some revisions to the Iowa WMU Guidelines, and talk about special opportunities for WMU ministry and women’s leadership training this coming year.    They will also take a special offering to provide travel expenses for a high school graduate and daughter of IMB missionaries, so that she can attend the MK Re-Entry Retreat this summer.  This year’s retreat is facilitated by the International Mission Board and will be hosted by Alabama WMU.

“We are very excited about this coming year,” says Joni Wilkinson, Iowa WMU Executive Director.  “One of our goals will be to connect with many of our International Missions Board missionaries who have Iowa connections, and also to facilitate ways for these missionaries to connect to Iowa churches.  We also hope to reach out to parents of our missionaries, and fellowship with and encourage them.  We are eager this year to meet and minister alongside women across the state who have a heart for missions.”

If you are able to attend this year’s WMU Annual Meeting or need further information, please email Joni Wilkinson, iowawmu@gmail.com, or call her 515-979-5414.
