Students and staff of Camp Crosswalkcamp crosswalk aliens and strangersThis year’s camp was full of energy and great messages! Our theme was “Aliens and Strangers” with the key verse as John 15:19. “You do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.” Once again, we had the privilege of working with the group from Mosaic Community Fellowship in Arkansas. They did an excellent job with providing the outline for the week, key verses, music, games, activities and chapel time. Pastor Tommy Rucker from First Baptist Church in Dunkerton and Pastor Steve Littleton from Shiloh in Waterloo did an excellent job delivering the morning messages to the campers.
A total of 76 campers (kids and adults) attended this year from five different churches in the NEISBA and Great Rivers Association. It was held at Spring Valley Bible Camp in Muscatine from June 10 – 14 and was available for kids entering 3rd grade through kids entering 8th grade.
Discussions and cabin time were as follows:
Monday – “HOME” We are Aliens! We don’t belong here; our home is with God. Hebrews 11:13b, 16 “They agreed that they were aliens and nomads here on the earth. …But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”

Tuesday – “FAMILY” We have been chosen to be children of God. Ephesians1:5 “God decided in advance to adopt us into his family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”

Wednesday – “HOLY” Christians are supposed to look different. John 15:18-19 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”

Thursday – “WAR!” living for eternity. 1 Peter 2:11 “Dear Friends, I urge you are aliens and strangers to keep away from worldly desires which wage war against your very soul.

A big thank you to all the cabin leaders, church members who handled the paperwork, Spring Valley Bible Camp, Mosaic Community Fellowship, everyone who prayed for this ministry and the parents who allowed us to spend this week teaching your children a powerful and promising message.
