Iowa Disaster Relief Chaplains have been called upon to respond to the Oklahoma disaster. Teams of Iowa chaplains were sent to Moore OK in early June to serve alongside other chaplains from Oklahoma, Louisiana  Texas, and Arkansas. All DR certified chaplains should remain in contact with DR leadership in preparation for further deployments..

Iowa Disaster Relief has also been asked to support the relief effort in Oklahoma through prayer and financial donations.  Many in Iowa have already responded to the need, and Iowa Southern Baptist Disaster Relief has sent a donation to Oklahoma Disaster Relief.

Anthony Jordan, Executive Director of Oklahoma Baptist Convention, expressed to Ty Berry, on behalf of Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief, their sincere thank you to Iowa Southern Baptist Churches for our timely donations and prayers.  Your prompt response has helped to assist us to be more effective to Oklahoma response in this disaster.

At this time, individuals, churches or associations who would like to contribute to relief assistance, are asked to send only financial assistance.  If you are interested in giving to Oklahoma Disaster Relief please send your gift to the Baptist Convention of Iowa, 2400 86th St. Suite 27, Des Moines, IA 50131 Attention: DR – Oklahoma Tornado.

PRAY – Prayer is not part of our DR ministry, prayer IS our DR ministry and the blessing of serving by showing Christ’s love in times of crisis.

You can keep up with the latest information about the Oklahoma response on their website at www.OKdisasterHelp.com.
