Iowa Southern Baptists will be gathering virtually on November 16th–19th for the 2020 BCI Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting is an important opportunity for Iowa church leaders to move “Forward in Faith” to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in Iowa and beyond.

Session 1: BCI Convention Updates & SBC Interviews

In this first session, we will focus on what’s new with the Baptist Convention of Iowa and hear updates on the Southern Baptist Convention in 1-on-1 interviews with many of our SBC national leaders plus conversations with the pastors of some of the new churches to affiliate with the BCI in 2020.

SBC & Ronnie Floyd – Full Interview

Dr. Ronnie Floyd was elected as president and CEO of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention on April 2, 2019. Prior to that, Dr. Floyd was the Senior Pastor of Cross Church, a Southern Baptist located in Northwest Arkansas.

ERLC & Dr. Russell Moore – Full Interview

Dr. Russell Moore is President of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. The ERLC is the moral and public policy entity of the SBC. In this role, he leads the organization to connect the agenda of the kingdom of Christ to the cultures of local congregations for the sake of the gospel.

Dan Rude – Full Interview

Dan Rude is a Pastor at Walnut Creek Downtown in Des Moines. Dan teaches at weekend services, serves on the Managing Elder team, and oversees the Walnut Creek college ministry, Campus Fellowship.

Matt Heerema – Full Interview

Matt Heerema serves as lead pastor at Stonebrook Church in Ames. Matt teaches at weekend services and provides vision for the elder team. He and his wife Nancy have four daughters. Matt also owns and operates a web development company.

Vance Pitman – Full Interview

Vance Pitman is the Senior Pastor of Hope Church Las Vegas. Vance responded to God’s call to Las Vegas in 2000, as a church plant from First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia. With a passion for God’s kingdom, he had a vision to launch a church focused on joining in God’s activity locally and globally.
