Iowa Southern Baptists will be gathering on November 1st & 2nd for the 2024 BCI Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting is an important opportunity for Iowa church leaders to celebrate what God is doing and partner together to reach more people for Christ.

Messenger or Guest?
There are 2 types of attendees for the Annual Meeting on Saturday: “Messengers” are approved by their home church to vote in the BCI Business Meeting. “Guests” includes any other attendees and they are not approved to vote during the Business Meeting. SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER:
Brent Leatherwood
– ERLC President
We are honored to welcome Brent Leatherwood, ERLC President, to our BCI 2024 Annual Meeting. Since his election in 2022, Brent has been committed to serving SBC churches and leaders, bringing his expertise in public policy to advocate for religious liberty and ethical practices.
Brent Leatherwood was elected as president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission in 2022, after a year of leading the organization as acting president. Previously, he served as chief of staff at the ERLC, as well as the entity’s director of strategic partnerships. He brings an expertise in public policy to his work, having been the executive director of the Tennessee Republican Party, the director of communications and policy strategy in the Tennessee General Assembly, and working for several years on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Brent is a dedicated member of his church, where he has served as a deacon since 2014. Brent is married to Meredith, and together they have three children.
