“Multiplying Disciples, Churches, & Mission Together”
– 2025 BCI Ministry Expansion Programs
In 2025, the Baptist Convention of Iowa is launching three new ministry initiatives designed to multiply disciples, equip churches, and support new and future pastors. These programs reflect our commitment to strengthening local churches and expanding gospel reach across Iowa. Through key partnerships and strategic funding, BCI is investing deeply in the health and mission of our churches.
Here are three new programs getting underway:
1. Shepherd’s Fellowship Pastoral Residency
In partnership with Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, this new program provides 1-year residencies for first-time and prospective pastors. The residency includes theological training, pastoral mentorship, and hands-on ministry experience in a local church. Our goal is to raise up faithful, well-equipped shepherds for the next generation of church leadership.
2. Church Planting Residency
BCI is funding four new Church Planting Residencies, each supported by a significant grant, which includes additional funding from NAMB Evangelism Funds. These residencies are designed to support the development and deployment of new church planters throughout Iowa. Residents will receive coaching, training, and practical experience with sending churches.
3. Church Equipping Grant Program
This brand-new initiative will offer grants of up to $2,000 per church to help BCI churches implement targeted equipping strategies in 2025. These grants will support leadership training, outreach efforts, discipleship pathways, and other tools that help churches multiply their ministry.
Let’s Multiply Together
These new initiatives build on BCI’s mission to serve churches and pastors as they multiply disciples, plant churches, and live on mission. If you’re a pastor or church leader interested in participating in or learning more about these programs, contact us today. Together, we can build healthy churches that reach every corner of Iowa and beyond.
