During the summer we know that many students are busy with summer jobs and other commitments, so instead of picking a new night or weekend to do something as a whole Salt Company, we decided to have a hang out at Cottage Grove Church prior to the Salt Company gathering. For this hang out we got a bunch of yard games together and the supplies for root beer floats. The invite went out from the stage the week before as well as being posted on our events Facebook page.
We had 50 or more students come out for an awesome community time with people from Salt Companies from all over the state. The attendance was more than half of the average attendance from week to week during the summer so we were very encouraged that so many students came out to enjoy some great fellowship. It was an awesome bonding experience for our summer salt and we have heard some really positive feedback from our connection groups about community after this event.
