The first Iowa Hispanic Women’s Congress was held on September 29, 2018, at Community Baptist Church of Marion. Forty-six women from Storm Lake, Sioux City, and Cedar Rapids attended.
Three topics were covered—1) Self-esteem in women, 2) Breaking roots of bitterness and 3) Health produces freedom to evangelize other women. They will be holding monthly meetings for women in their churches.
The event was sponsored in part by Iowa Woman’s Missionary Union through a women’s leadership grant from the WMU Foundation.
The second Hispanic Women’s Congress will be held next year in Sioux City. Women from Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska will be invited to attend.
