Adult and Teen Challenge ministry of the Midlands exists to be a catalyst to help addicts make a 180-degree life change. They are a faith-based non-profit organization that offers men, women, and boys help and healing for life-controlling issues. Their services include outreach initiatives, small group ministries, and 12 month residential programs. Adult and Teen Challenge’s ministry has continued to expand over the years and now includes four residential centers in Iowa and Nebraska. Seeing an even greater need for their ministry to grow, Adult and Teen Challenge has expansion plans that include a re-entry center in Ames, IA, and a public school outreach program in Nebraska which they hope carries over into Iowa as well. They also hope to expand into Eastern Iowa with their program and services.
Each Adult and Teen Chalenge center has the capacity to serve 54 men, 16 women, and 16 juveniles with expansion plans in the works. In addition to providing services to addicts, Adult and Teen Challenge of the Midlands offers services to the family members of their clients by offering hope to their loved one while they’re in the program and after they graduate. By integrating their clients into the life of local churches, students of Adult and Teen Challenge learn the importance of being a member of the body of Christ and how to serve in a local ministry. Their heart for each client is for them to understand that the gospel of Jesus Christ is not a program; it is the only thing that can help people.
