We had spent months planning our fall kickoff. Our staff team took into consideration every last detail, however no one took into account a thunderstorm.
We were looking forward to being on central campus and taking advantage of the free publicity that comes with the location, especially since this is only our second full year here at the University of Northern Iowa. However, with the radar looking bleak and the ground sopping wet we decided to go with our rain location.
Our student leaders spread the word and on Aug 28th, in the most remote part of Cedar Falls, we kicked off with nearly 250 in attendance. We are praising God for the great turn out and the awesome connections that took place. We have 25 student lead connection groups available that meet on campus and around the Cedar Valley to study God’s word. We are so thankful to have a church family that loves the next generation and welcomes them with open arms.
