The members of Community Southern Baptist Church, Waterloo, celebrated their 43rd  Church Anniversary February 7 thru 9, 2020.  With the theme of “43 Years of God’s Grace and Mercy.” focusing on 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “9And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”


On Friday at 6 p.m., a family and friends worship night included special guests Rev. Willie Campbell and the congregation of Crystal Cathedral Faith Southern Baptist Church, Rev. Marvin Jenkins and the congregation of Union Missionary Baptist Church and Sister Lee Bryant of Antioch Baptist Church.


On Saturday, February 8th services began at 1 p.m. with a celestial worship service with music by Community, Payne AME, Corinthians Baptist and Deliverance Temple choirs. Mike Roberts, Director of Great Rivers Southern Baptist Association was the guest speaker.

On Sunday, February 9th services began with continental breakfast and a slide show presentation of Community’s past 43 years, followed by Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m., Ed Gregory, of the Baptist Convention of Iowa Association was the guest speaker.


Community Southern Baptist Church has truly been blessed over the past 43 years. We have come this far by faith and we thank God for His amazing grace and mercy.
