Colorado Baptists are asking Iowa Southern Baptists to assist them as they return to help residents in communities devastated by flood waters last fall. More than 80% of the damaged structures are in Boulder, Larimer, and Weld Counties where thousands of families and businesses are still displaced.
Winter weather forced our Disaster Relief teams to close operations before the clean-up and recovery work was complete. With the arrival of the spring thaw we are now able to return to the area and help families get back into their homes.
The North American Mission Board is partnering with the Colorado Baptist General Convention and Estes Park Baptist Church to establish a Base Camp for the Colorado Recovery Project at Estes Park Baptist, Estes Park, CO. Our goal is to have a Base Camp that can house up to 50 volunteers operational by May 1, 2014. The project plan is to maintain a volunteer force in Colorado through October 31, 2014.
Assessors and Base Camp setup teams are needed now. Housing is available at Estes Park Baptist Church.
We are now scheduling teams for May 1, 2014-October 31, 2014.
The following skills are needed:
• Mud-out
• Construction Teams
• Carpentry
• Roofing
• Drywall installation and finishing
• Flooring Installation– laminate, wood and tile
• Painting
• Fence rebuilding and debris removal on farmers’/ranchers’ fields
• Feeding
• Housekeeping
• Office support
• Base Camp / Warehouse assistance
Thank you for your prayers and support of the ministry of Colorado Baptists and the Colorado Flood Recovery effort.
