Iowa Southern Baptists will be gathering on November 4th & 5th for the 2022 BCI Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting is an important opportunity for Iowa church leaders to celebrate what God is doing and partner together to reach more people for Christ.

Messenger or Guest?
There are 2 types of attendees for the Annual Meeting on Saturday: “Messengers” are approved by their home church to vote in the BCI Business Meeting. “Guests” includes any other attendees and they are not approved to vote during the Business Meeting. Find out how many Messengers your church is allowed by referencing the giving table in the Messengers Info Sheet (PDF).
Registration & Food Information
• There is no cost for registration for either event.
• Dinner will be provided on Friday evening for no cost for BCI pastors and their wives.
• Lunch will be provided on Saturday morning for no cost for all attendees, both Messengers and Guests.
Lodging Information
• Lodging will be on your own this year.
• For hotel accommodations, we recommend Staybridge Suites, located 1 block west of Walnut Creek Church. Use the button below to reserve a room on the hotel website.
• If your church does not have funds set aside for hotel expenses, financial scholarships are available. Email annualmeeting@bciowa.org for information.
SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Kevin Ezell
– NAMB President
Kevin Ezell has served as the President of the North American Mission Board since September, 2010. He provides strategic vision, direction, and leadership as NAMB works to help Southern Baptist churches send the hope of the gospel to North America. Prior to NAMB, Kevin was senior pastor of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, for 14 years.
SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Jonathan Howe – SBC VP of Communication
Jonathan Howe currently serves as vice president for communications at the SBC Executive Committee and is also co-host of “SBC This Week,” a weekly podcast he and Amy Whitfield have produced since 2015. Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and holds a master’s degree from Criswell College. For more than a decade and half, he has served Southern Baptists in various roles at the Executive Committee, Lifeway Christian Resources and the Woman’s Missionary Union. He and his wife, Beth, have four kids and live in the Nashville area.
SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Dan Rude
– Pastor at Walnut Creek Church
Pastor Dan Rude is Lead Pastor at Walnut Creek Church in Downtown Des Moines. Dan teaches at weekend services, serves on the Managing Elder team, and oversees the Campus Fellowship College Ministry. He and his wife, Meg, have five kids and are members of Walnut Creek Downtown, where Dan has served as a pastor since 2008.
