In little more than a week, messengers from across the state will be converging on Des Moines for the Baptist Convention of Iowa Annual Meeting, Nov. 1-2, which will focus participants toward the theme “Make Disciples” taken from Matthew 28:19.

Featured speaker Micah Fries, vice president of LifeWay Research, will deliver the annual meeting sermon Nov. 2, 10:35 a.m. Other key speakers include Thomas L. Law, III, BCI interim executive director, Gary Frost, Midwest region vice president with the North American Mission Board, Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee, and Dan Wiersema, president of BCI and pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids.
Chris Johnson will provide worship music during the annual meeting.
The Baptist Convention of Iowa Annual Meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn & Suites, located at 4800 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines. Registration begins Nov. 1, 3 p.m., and the meeting will get underway later that afternoon at 5:30 p.m. Messengers will return the following day for the second half of the event, which will conclude Nov. 2, 11:15 a.m.
