By Josh Moklestad, TSC Freshmen Ministry Assistant Leader
This year there were about 50 students that expressed interest in being part of the Freshman Group worship team for Salt Company! To my knowledge, that is the most we have ever had. It has been neat to see how God has used the reputation of Salt’s commitment to musical excellence to continue to provide us with talented and passionate students for the ministry.
We were able to get 17 of these freshman involved in the band rotation on a regular basis, and recommend that some of the others help out with Cornerstone’s high school and middle-school music ministries. This has been a great way to give these freshmen some ownership in the church right away, and a chance to use their gifts to serve others.
There are two young men in particular who have demonstrated the potential to be worship-leaders down the road. I am especially excited to continue to invest time in both of them. One of them accompanied me over a weekend to help play music for a high school youth group retreat out of town, and he did great. I look forward to continuing to see these students grow in their musical skills and in their personal relationships with Jesus throughout this year!
