By Joe Quick, Executive Director, Friendship Center
We are working diligently on evaluating our ministries and seeking to add ministries that would help us reach more for Christ in 2019. We could not impact Des Moines without your prayers, financial support, donations and volunteering to help.
As we prepare for 2019, we would like to share our prayer requests with you. First and foremost, we have a staff that continues to seek God’s guidance as we lead in our perspective ministries. That our work would be purposeful and not merely to keep a ministry going. We want to empower this community to break the cycle of poverty and show them value in meeting a physical or mental need to show them their ultimate need of knowing Jesus Christ as their savior.
Secondly, for our Friendship Gala on Saturday, September 14th. For not only for the of raising $10k for the Center but to introduce it on a broader scale to the public. Telling how this ministry positively impacts Des Moines for good and how people can be involved with providing hope to others. Tickets will go on sale by April 1st and can be purchased on Eventbrite. The location will be 6123 Scout Trail, Des Moines, 50321 at the Mid-Iowa Council building. The program consists of Silent Auction Items, Photo Booth, Dinner and Dessert, a guest Speaker and Jamison Service Award and Friendship 100 Member of the year awards. Tickets will be $40 prior and $50 at the night of the gala. I promise you will not want to miss this event.
