How to participate in the Iowa Missions Offering

The need for the local church to meet tangible needs and expand gospel-centered ministry in our communities is as great as ever. That’s why we are excited about the opportunity to partner with BCI churches around Iowa each year through the Iowa Missions Offering (IMO).

TWO WAYS TO PARTICIPATE IN IMO

There are two ways churches can participate in the 2023 Iowa Missions Offering.

  1. Collect a special offering during your weekend worship service.
    Each September we invite churches to collect a special IMO offering. This year, the emphasis dates for the offering are Sunday, September 10th and Sunday, September 17th. 
  2. Give a one-time or recurring offering directly from your church’s missions budget.
    Instead of collecting a special offering, some churches choose to give a one-time gift to IMO each year or give a set amount monthly toward this unique ministry opportunity.

NOTE: While we set aside September as a special IMO emphasis month, funds can be contributed to this offering anytime during the year at bciowa.org/imo.

IOWA MISSIONS OFFERING + IOWA MINISTRY FUND

This year, 100% of the 2023 IMO will go toward supporting ministries that BCI churches have recommended through the Iowa Ministry Fund. The Iowa Ministry Fund is a BCI initiative started six years ago that funds gospel-centered ministries in Iowa in ten different categories of need, such as crisis pregnancy, homelessness, poverty impacted, addiction recovery, and more. Enclosed are examples of materials you can use to promote the Iowa Missions Offering to your church family and seek their prayers and financial support. TWO WAYS TO GIVE

There are two ways churches can contribute funds to the Iowa Missions Offering.

  1. Write A Check

    Send checks to Baptist Convention of Iowa, PO Box 619, Ankeny, IA 50021. To designate a check (or a portion of the check) to the Iowa Missions Offering, simply indicate “IMO” in the memo.

  2. Give Online

    Go to www.bciowa.org/givenow. Follow the instructions to utilize the Cooperative Program online giving system.
