It seems like once a week I’m in a meeting when someone says something like, “I don’t really have an opinion on this, but I fear Perception would say…” and then goes on to articulate some outlandish opinion that “Perception” has. I would like to meet this guy named Perception. It seems that everyone who quotes Perception recognizes that he is fairly ignorant of the facts and, at the same time, highly regards Perception’s thoughts about the issues.
Instead of repeating Perception’s opinions and being influenced by them, I think we should work hard to educate Perception so that his opinions are less outlandish.
Let’s also give more weight to the opinions of actual people instead of nameless and uninformed ones.
I will actively respond to people, but this guy Perception; he either needs information or needs to be ignored.
