Iowa Send Network Quarterly
– February 11, 2022 • Des Moines

On February 11, church planters, pastors, and other leaders gathered in Des Moines for the Iowa Send Network Quarterly. This event is designed to encourage, equip, and call out laborers for church planting in Iowa.

Church planting leader Chase Abner opened the event by reminding the group that church planting in Iowa is necessary, exciting, and possible. Eric Trout, planter of Restoration Church in Adel, shared from Ephesians about God’s ability to provide for us in ways beyond our imagination. Then, he lead the group in a time of praying for one another.
The featured speaker was Nick Reed, planter of CityPoint Church in Urbandale. Nick shared some lessons from his first four years as a church planter, highlighting the need to focus on faithfulness, not fruitfulness. Nick also acknowledged the contributions of his wife, Heather, who has grown and multiplied ministry to children through Bible Club, a home-based after school ministry.
Another highlight was the participation of many leaders who are serving Hispanic populations across Iowa. Almost half of the attendees were Spanish-speaking pastors and leaders.

The next Send Network Quarterly is on May 13. If you’d like to be included on the invite list, please contact Chase Abner (cabner@namb.net).
