On October 28, LifeChange Church hosted their second annual “Rock the Pumpkin” event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds to reach out to the East Des Moines community. Over 200 visitors came from the four area elementary schools to enjoy inflatable attractions, games, and prizes. Many of the guests heard about Rock the Pumpkin from LifeChange Church’s involvement in a sports program that gave them a platform to meet many children and families in their ministry area. The gospel went forth through a devotional time during the event and as each family received a free Bible, Christian literature, and information about the church.
Since their launch in October 2017, Pastor Steve Christiansen has led LifeChange to focus much of their service to meet needs in the local schools. Steve said, “We had one of the teachers from the schools join our church over the last month because of our generosity to her school throughout the year and she was there to welcome many of the students/parents as a familiar face!”
BCI partnered with LifeChange Church financially to help them provide this meaningful outreach to their community.
