Greetings fellow Iowans!
Jerry and Debbie McFerron
We can now say, “We have planted our roots in Des Moines”. We are Jerry and Debbie McFerron. We have met some of you already and others we look forward to meeting, as God permits, in the years to come.
Jerry’s roots are in Iowa and God called us back to the U.S. from Africa in February of this year to help his dad, Claude, and Irene who live just two miles from us in Des Moines.
We want to use this opportunity to thank you for your gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and your support of the International Mission Board through prayer, giving and going. “Because of who He is” is the theme for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering this year, and that just says it all, doesn’t it?
Why do we go? Because of who He is!
Why do we give? Because of who He is!
Why do we pray? Because of who He is!
The power of prayer is evident in our lives as we know it is in yours. Thank you for your continuing prayer support for God’s amazing mission to every tribe and tongue.
As you may know, the IMB is re-thinking missions – David Platt calls it a reset. That is not to say it was done wrong in the past. It says we want to keep current, to keep on the cutting edge, to be continually evaluating within the organization and within God’s plan, to ask ourselves if God leading us to reach the great commission in a different way.
One hundred percent of your gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering go to support missions around the world – that’s 100%. We don’t know of another organization involved in Christian ministry who can make that claim.
The money you give to Lottie Moon is used in a myriad of ways overseas; providing Bibles in the heart languages of the people, providing a much needed vehicle to transport a missionary to an unreached village enabling him to share the gospel of Christ, helping fund Bible schools and seminaries training the next generation of national Christian leadership, and the list goes on and on.
We want to thank you in advance for your prayerful gift to the Lottie Moon offering. As praying, giving and going Southern Baptists, God has used you in our lives to encourage and empower us to be on mission with God in Africa… Now He is calling us, as He is calling you, to “hold the ropes” so others can be encouraged and empowered as they live God’s amazing adventure.
