I asked the Baptist Convention of Iowa’s Executive Board what their main motivation is for giving to the Cooperative Program. Below are the representative answers:
- Through the Cooperative Program our church can directly participate in sending thousands of missionaries internationally and to North America. We know some of them and are grateful to help with their funding.
- The missionaries that we support can focus on reaching the nations rather than raising support.
- We love being part of the larger Christian community that is united to support something bigger than ourselves.
- I’m give to the Cooperative Program because it started the church I attend.
- I’m motivated to give to the Cooperative Program because I was able to finish seminary with no debt, which allowed me to service a small congregation in Iowa.
- I believe in the overall mission of the SBC and the Cooperative Program is the way to support it.
- The main reason that I am a Southern Baptist is the Cooperative Program.
