NEW BCI STAFF – CHRIS MAVITY
Through a recent vision casting process, BCI has clarified its mission to help church leaders take their next step to multiply disciples, churches, and mission through local churches. One area that we recognize that we have fallen behind on is providing effective support for our multiplying churches and church networks that exist within BCI. Through this process, we have discerned the need to add staff that can serve multiplying churches in our convention.

helping church leaders multiply disciples
The Baptist Convention of Iowa is pleased to announce the addition of Chris Mavity to BCI staff to lead in our multiplication of disciples ministries. Chris served more than 20 years with North Coast Church and the North Coast Training Network in Vista, CA, and more recently as Director of Multisite Services at Generis and Community Life Pastor at Grace Church in Des Moines.
Chris believes ministry is the most exciting when the opportunity for expansion presents itself. That’s where Chris Mavity lives and works. A “hand to the plow” leader, Chris’ ministry has centered around the expansion, advancement, and enhancement phases of church growth throughout the country. Possessing an uncanny ability to simplify the complex and focus precisely on the most critical details, Chris’ counsel is based on over 30 years of personal church leadership and 25 years of coaching pastors and consulting with Church Leadership teams. His book Your Volunteers has been dubbed a manifesto on volunteerism and a must read for church leadership and staff.
In his new responsibilities with the BCI, Chris will provide expert coaching to multi-campus churches and church planting networks within the convention.
Chris will work with churches to identify a leadership development strategy to produce leaders who multiply leaders at all levels.
Committed to Serving Churches in Innovative Ways
BCI is committed to serve churches in innovative ways that help them move the needle on fulfilling the Great Commission. Chris Mavity will be an incredible asset to churches which we pray will result in more gospel fruit.
