As part of the BCI Expansion Plan, the BCI Executive Board has approved a new provision for $20/mo retirement benefits for eligible pastors beginning on October 1, 2021. Through this new benefit, which will be paid annually in December, BCI desires to expand our investment in pastors, the key leaders in fulfilling the Great Commission through their local churches.
FINANCIAL BENEFITS THROUGH PARTNERSHIP
This new retirement benefit is in addition to two other benefits provided by BCI through its partnership with GuideStone Financial Resources. GuideStone has provided financial services to churches, ministries, and institutions in the SBC for over 100 years. For the last two years, BCI has provided the following benefits to BCI pastors who contribute to retirement through GuideStone:
- Disability Income Benefit
- Survivor Protection Benefit
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
To be eligible for this new retirement benefit, the staff must serve in one of the following 4 positions: Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Worker, or Worship Leader. Additionally, the church must contribute a minimum of $50 per month to the pastor’s retirement through GuideStone. Church leaders who are already fulfilling these eligibility requirements have been receiving the Disability Income and Survivor Protection benefits automatically.
HOW TO SIGN UP?
How can church leaders sign up for this new retirement benefit? Enrollment is automatic for any leader who meets the two eligibility requirements listed above. For leaders not yet in the GuideStone system, the first step is to start a retirement account.
See the attached flyer for more information about these three financial benefits through our partnership with GuideStone. If you have any questions, contact the BCI account representative Hoon Im. Click here to email Hoon Im.
