Standing Stone Ministry – Offering Care for Iowa Pastors & Spouses

Pastoral ministry can be deeply rewarding, but it can also be lonely. Research shows that many pastors carry their burdens quietly.

According to statistics from PastoralCareInc.com, 70% of pastors do not have someone they consider a close friend, and 27% report having no one to turn to during a crisis.

That’s why we are grateful for the ministry of Standing Stone Ministry, a ministry dedicated to providing confidential care and coaching for pastors and their wives.

Serving Iowa through Standing Stone are Terry Langenberg and Monica Langenberg. Together they offer no-cost, no-session-limit care and coaching for full-time pastors and pastors’ wives. Their goal is simple but powerful: to walk alongside ministry leaders through trusted, confidential relationships.

Standing Stone Ministry operates with the vision that healthy ministry leaders guide healthy ministries, and healthy ministries help spread the gospel in their communities.

Terry brings over 17 years of pastoral ministry experience, along with more than two decades in the business world prior to entering full-time ministry. He is an ordained pastor and a Board-Certified Pastoral Counselor, holding a degree in Marketing from Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and training in Biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF).

Monica also served alongside Terry in ministry for over 17 years and understands the unique pressures and sacrifices of ministry life. She holds a Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling, is a Certified Trauma Care Provider, and has also trained through CCEF. Her passion is helping ministry spouses and families thrive, not merely survive.

Together, the Langenbergs offer compassionate listening, Biblical guidance, and practical encouragement for ministry leaders navigating the challenges of pastoral life.
