Global Hunger Fund from SEND Relief

The Baptist Convention of Iowa is excited to invite our churches to participate in the Global Hunger Fund (GHF) program through Send Relief. This program exists to support Gospel-centered hunger ministries that are meeting real needs in our communities.

DEADLINE: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH

If your church operates a food pantry, hot meal program, backpack food distribution, after-school or summer feeding ministry, or another hunger-focused outreach connected to BCI, you may qualify for GHF funding.

How Global Hunger Funds Works

GHF operates on a reimbursement model through BCI:

  1. Your church submits a funding request based on the estimated number of meals your ministry will provide in the coming year.
  2. After approval, your church submits a quarterly report showing how funds were used and how many meals were served.
  3. Funds are distributed to BCI and then forwarded to your church.

View the quarterly report form here: Quarterly Report Form

Important Notes

  • The amount you request should align with your projected meals.
    • As a guideline, requests should not exceed $0.80 per meal.
    • On the form, list both State Convention and Association as: Iowa.

Deadline Is Very Soon

All GHF requests must be submitted by Friday, February 6.

If your church has a qualifying ministry and is willing to submit the required reports, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen your hunger outreach and Gospel witness.
