Pastor Richard L. Sciranko, Sr. of Heartland Baptist Chapel in Ida Grove has announced that he will resign his position as pastor effective August 24, 2014, or sooner if a suitable replacement is found.
Pastor Sciranko cites health reasons stating, “Sandy and I agree together that this is God’s will for us and the church. Our health conditions and advancing age have been no little consideration on this decision.”
Sciranko will be missed by the members of Heartland Baptist Chapel and the residents of Ida Grove. He shares his feelings about leaving, saying “We love you all very much and will miss all of you immensely. We will not forget you and all the good times we have had here. It has been a sincere pleasure to be your pastor. Please keep us in your prayers.”
The Baptist Convention of Iowa prays that Pastor Richard and Sandy Sciranko find peace and God’s will in the next stage of their lives.
