Sojourn spent its first 10 years located in a mall. We wanted to be where people who weren’t thinking about Jesus could run across Him. We started with an ice cream shop called Ice Cream and Answers and we gave a free ice cream and talked to many, many people about Jesus and gave them good advice on their lives. We started meeting in a space in the mall and soon started a dodgeball game every Friday night. This drew on average about 40 unchurched teenage boys with a high of 150 in a single night. We ministered and shared the gospel often. We moved away from dodgeball and began ministering to the local Gospel Mission. We also began a recovery ministry. Each week, 10 to 12 men would come to worship and come to our recovery meeting. We participated in many of the mall events and this was fantastic, out-of-the-ordinary ministry for all of us. Unfortunately, the mall sold and is to be torn down. We found a new facility in Bellevue that shares a parking lot with the local college, but haven’t met there yet because of COVID-19.

We will move into our new place as soon as the quarantine is lifted. This is not only a lot of work getting the building ready, but there are many new people who will be joining us at our first meeting.

We will create a new ministry at the college. Pray that it will draw many students and a produce a lot of gospel-centered ministry.
