On December 22, 2022, one of our own, Pastor Jack Parrish of Centerville Baptist Fellowship, Centerville, Iowa was called home to be with his Lord.
Remembering the Life & Ministry of Pastor Jack Parrish
Jack was the pastor of Centerville Baptist Fellowship in Centerville for many years and had a lot of ministry roles over the years, primarily in Southern Iowa and Northern Missouri. He also served in the Eastern part of Iowa doing pulpit supply in Iowa City and other locations. BCI Pastor Support staff Ed Gregory said, “Jack Parrish was a traditional, country pastor who was used to traveling wherever he was needed to continue his preaching ministry.”
“One of the things that Jack enjoyed most,” said Jack’s wife Jackie, “was his outreach ministry with youth and kids: a fishing trip every Sunday after church.” Pastor Jack had been struggling with back injuries and failing health for some time and was not able to preach for the last year. Pastor Jack passed away peacefully in his sleep. “He lived a good life,” Jackie said, “and he was at the age that it was time for him to be with the Lord. That’s what he always wanted: to be with the Lord.”
As a fellowship of pastors and churches, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they grieve his loss. BCI has been in touch with Jack’s wife Jackie and has offered any help needed. On behalf of the BCI Staff, fellow pastors, and Iowa Baptists we acknowledge Pastor Jack’s life and ministry, and offer our love, prayers, and condolences to his wife, children, and all extended family. We also offer our prayers and support for the members of Centerville Baptist Fellowship as they walk through this time of grieving.
