Before everyone left for Christmas break Salt Company staff and leadership gathered for our Leader’s Celebration. We reflected on the faithfulness of the Lord throughout the previous semester. Students shared stories of miraculous salvation and the extensive spiritual growth they witnessed within their connection groups. The opportunity for us to reflect on the gifts of the Lord was a gentle and enlightening reminder of His faithfulness.
After a time of reflection, students enjoyed a family-style meal together while seated at one long, large table carefully cutting through our church lobby. Conversations ranged from a continuation of the purposeful reflections over the past semester to a joyous celebration of the exciting Christmas break to come. As students began to finish their meals, our staff team began to distribute a holiday gift included the book, “The Kneeling Christian.” Our challenge for our leaders was for them to read this book and deeply ponder it over break, hopefully driving them to spend more time on their knees in adoration of our God.
We wrapped up our Leader’s Celebration with a competitive ugly sweater contest and a few of our very favorite Christmas songs to send the leaders on their way. Reflecting on the fruit of the last semester reminds us of our posture before the Lord, for His abundant grace He has lavished upon us unworthy laborers should drive us to worship. Praise God for His provisions over the past semester!
