The last weekend in September was the annual Fall Retreat for Salt DSM! We had a change of scenery this year as we decided to head to East Iowa Bible Camp with 50 of our students to spend a weekend having a blast and diving deep into the truth of what God has said in his Word to us. Luke Peterson, a church planting candidate in from Cornerstone Church in Ames, taught on the conversion of Paul. Luke beautifully articulated how meeting Jesus changes everything. The simplicity of that reality resonated with our students for them to be able to apply that truth to their own lives as they are in the midst of what always seems to be a crazy busy fall. So many great stories came out of that weekend of people who want to see God change their lives in every way because they have met Jesus

In addition to the great teaching we also had a great time. Crew Wars has become a staple of the Salt DSM fall retreats where we divide up the attendees into teams of 8-10 as they compete for pride and bragging rights as the best team of the year. Dodgeball, egg toss, and dizzy leapfrog were just a few of the many games and challenges that it took to become the Crew Wars champions. We then capped off Saturday night with an awesome dance party, themed athletes and mathletes, as we were able to find so much joy flowing out of the reality that our identities are firm in God.
