The Baptist Convention of Iowa would like to assist churches by providing an experienced Discipleship Team Leader to develop a team to consult with pastors and other ministry leaders in churches to strengthen their discipleship and small groups ministry.
The Baptist Convention of Iowa would like to assist churches by providing an experienced Church Starting Team Leader to develop a team to consult with pastors and other ministry leaders in churches to strengthen their church-starting ministry.
Positions will be filled based on a candidate’s ministry and job experience, skills, education, SBC connection and identity, and connection with Iowa. Discipleship Team Leader

20 and that I did not shrink back from proclaiming to you anything that was profitable or from teaching it to you in public and from house to house. (Acts 20:20 HCSB)
The Ministry Specialist will be expected to:
1. Give broad direction to BCI churches to formulate a vision and articulate a passion for individual and small group discipleship. Develop strategies to encourage and support such emphases. Additionally, provide concentrated attention to a select number of churches and leaders in order to maximize the influence for long-term sustainability.
2. Identify, train, encourage, and support other disciple makers around the state.
3. Produce materials, promote conferences, and develop other training systems to support BCI churches for evangelism, discipleship, small group ministry, and new member assimilation.
4. Work alongside BCI field staff to collaborate on additional ways to support and develop BCI churches.
5. Work with churches to strengthen their community evangelism outreach and community transformation.
6. Partner with Lifeway and other entities for resourcing and support.
7. Be part of the BCI staff team, support other BCI staff initiatives, and have other duties as assigned.
8. Report to Executive Director.

1. Develop strategies to both encourage and support BCI churches for church planting ministry on a statewide basis, while at the same time focus on a smaller number of churches and leaders for a time in order to have maximum impact.
2. To identify, develop, and support other church planting catalysts around the state.
3. Produce materials, conferences, and other training systems to support BCI churches for church planting.
4. Work along side BCI field staff to collaborate on ways to support and develop BCI churches.
5. Work with churches to develop support for various church planting strategies including multi-site campuses, missional communities, and church revitalization.
6. Partner with NAMB and other entities for resourcing and support.
7. Be part of the BCI staff team, support other BCI staff initiatives, and have other duties as assigned.
8. Report to Executive Director.
