THE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Student Scholarship Fund has been established to assist in training vocational ministers by providing $500/semester scholarship for up to four semesters. Scholarships are available to full-time seminary students who are preparing for vocational ministry.
NOTE: This fund is not intended for established church leaders who are already in a full-time ministry position.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Applications for the fall semester will be accepted June 1 – July 1. Applications for the spring semester will be accepted November 1 – December 1. Students must apply every semester.

formal application requirements

  1. A completed online application form, signed by the applicant.
  2. Brief statements by the applicant:

A) Conversion experience.
B) Call of God into full-time Christian service.
C) Describe the seminary program that you are enrolled in.
D) Describe your connection to Iowa and your church membership.
E) Describe your plans for future ministry.

QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS

  1. Must have good moral character shown by recommendations of pastor and others.
  2. Must be a member of a BCI-affiliated church.
  3. Must be enrolled full-time (6+ credit hours per semester) and intending to graduate from an accredited seminary.
  4. Must be pursuing a Masters degree. The scholarship is NOT intended for doctoral studies.
  5. Must be preparing for full-time Christian service. NOTE: This fund is not intended for established church leaders who are already in a full-time ministry position.

SCHOLARSHIP MAXIMUMS & PREFERENCES

Graduate students may receive a maximum of $500 per semester with a lifetime maximum of $2,000. Preference will be given to full-time (6+ credit hours per semester) students of SBC Seminaries.
