Sending Lab en Español in Iowa

61 leaders gather to mobilize Hispanic churches to send – Saturday, February 21st, 2026

On Saturday, February 21st, we celebrated a historic milestone for our convention: the first-ever Sending Lab en Español in Iowa. Hosted at First Family Church (FFC), 61 participants from seven Hispanic churches gathered with a shared vision to identify, train, and send church planters across our state.

The lab was led by Israel Becerra, Church Planting Catalyst for SEND Network Iowa, alongside David Martínez, SEND Network Español Regional Director. Together, they challenged and equipped leaders to see their churches not only as places of worship, but as sending and multiplying churches.

We praise the Lord for the way He is expanding the gospel among Spanish speakers in Iowa. Just last year, we added 10 churches into partnership, three of them Spanish-language congregations: Iglesia Faro de Esperanza in Des Moines, Poder y Gracia Nevada in Nevada, and First Family Church Español in Ankeny.

This Sending Lab represents more than a one-day event. It reflects a growing movement. Our prayer is that Hispanic churches across Iowa will continue to raise up leaders and send church planters into communities that need gospel witness.

We are grateful for the partnership of SEND Network and for every pastor and leader who participated. Praise God for what He is doing in Iowa.
