Beginning a relationship with Jesus Christ is easy: The Bible says, “Whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). It’s as simple as “ABC.”
Admit you are a sinner. Each of us has a problem the Bible calls sin, a refusal to acknowledge God’s authority over our lives. Everyone who does not live a life of perfect obedience to the Lord is guilty of sin. Since none of us is perfect, all of us are sinners (Romans 3:10-18). The result of sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from God.
Believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for your sins. Although we have done nothing to deserve His love and salvation, God wants to save us. In the death of Jesus on the cross, God provided salvation for all who would repent of their sins and place their faith in Christ.
Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life. The desire in your heart to be saved is the Holy Spirit offering you the forgiveness of your sin and the gift of eternal life. Admit your sin and ask Jesus to deliver you from its consequences. Yield control of your life to Him as your Lord and Savior, and you will be saved. (Romans 10: 9-10)
