Small Church USA Cohorts:
A Pathway to Health for Iowa Pastors & Churches

On February 13, pastors from across Iowa gathered for an informational Zoom call to learn more about Small Church USA and the potential for launching Healthy Church Revitalization Cohorts in our state.

The meeting, hosted by BCI Pastoral Ministry Director Eric Schumacher and Small Church USA founder Terry Thompson, provided an overview of the cohort model and its potential impact on smaller congregations.

A Proven Process for Church Health

One of the most exciting aspects of the program is the opportunity for pastors to connect with peers facing similar challenges and opportunities. Each cohort consists of 4-6 pastors, providing space for meaningful conversations and shared learning. Additionally, Eric Schumacher will serve as the Iowa cohort coach, offering personalized coaching beyond the monthly sessions. The cohort process focuses on five key areas of church vitality, offering monthly video conferences, assigned reading, and practical homework to guide churches toward a clearer mission and greater health for the church and the pastor.

Interested? There’s still time for pastors to take the next step!
