On June 18-21, Stonebridge Church hosted an “Explosive Science” VBS in Boone. The program featured many hands-on science experiments, dynamic worship songs that taught scripture, and other activities.

Each night before VBS, Stonebridge volunteers also provided meals for families. They fed around 175 people each night and met several families who had never visited their church before. On the final night, Stonebridge hosted “The Amazing Chemistry Show” featuring Josh Denhart, an evangelist who uses science demonstrations to illustrate the gospel message.
Over the week, over 200 people were able to hear the gospel. Pastor Matt Yoder reports that one child made a new profession of faith. Yoder said they were, “praising God for the best VBS and outreach event we’ve ever done as a church by far!”
BCI provided financial assistance to Stonebridge for their VBS as part of our program to assist new churches with evangelism projects. Churches that are less than five years old can contact Chase Abner (cabner@bciowa.org) for more information on this program.
