Strengthening Global Partnerships in Europe
– Ministry Development Trip to Romania & Austria
In early April, BCI Executive Director Tim Lubinus traveled to Europe to support and strengthen international partnerships vital to the gospel work of the Daniel Project. Started by Tim and once managed by BCI, the Daniel Project now operates as an independent ministry—but with vital involvement from our convention. Several BCI churches continue to play a significant role in sending, supporting, and partnering with Daniel Project workers across the globe.

A Legacy of Missions and a New Chapter for the Daniel Project
From April 3–4, Tim attended the annual meeting of the Romanian Baptist Union in Timișoara. A key purpose of the trip was to witness a historic moment: the establishment of a mission-sending agency within the Romanian Baptist Union. Adi Brotosin, the Daniel Project Coordinator for Romania and a longtime ministry partner, has played a central role in launching this new agency.
Tim also had the opportunity to travel with Adi, two IMB missionaries serving in Eastern Europe, and a friend from Ukraine. The trip offered encouraging times of fellowship and collaboration with leaders deeply invested in seeing the gospel spread across Central Asia and beyond.
Collaborating with Trusted Partners Across the Region
From Romania, the group continued to Vienna, Austria (April 6–8), where they met with Dr. Mihai Milancea, president of Divitia Gratiae University in Chisinau, Moldova. Dr. Milancea is a strategic partner in recruiting and equipping church planters for the Daniel Project. The team explored future opportunities, including a Daniel Project vision trip to Central Asia this November.
Raising Up Local Leaders for Hard-to-Reach Places
BCI churches may be encouraged to know that 9 of the 51 Daniel Project workers currently supported across 14 countries are graduates of Divitia Gratiae University. These leaders are actively planting churches and making disciples in some of the least-reached areas of the world.
Though the Daniel Project is now an autonomous ministry, it remains closely connected to the vision and mission of BCI. Tim’s dual leadership role reflects our continued commitment to global missions—and especially to equipping and supporting near-culture believers for gospel work.
Will you join the Daniel Project in praying for these new partnerships to bear lasting fruit, and for the Romanian Baptist Union’s mission-sending efforts to thrive?
