Harvest Bible Chapel – Davenport kicked off the first of our “Summers at West” events on Sunday, June 3 with a block party on the lawn of our West Campus location! While our Summers at West activities are a great way for our church family to come together during the summer months, our ultimate hope is that these events will open up our church to the surrounding neighborhood by providing informal, low-pressure, fun opportunities for folks to come out and experience the love of Christ and His community. Over 2,000 mailings were sent out to the surrounding neighborhood detailing our Summers at West events for 2018.

We had a great turnout at our Summer Kickoff Block Party—both of our own attendees and folks from the neighborhood! At this free event, we enjoyed dinner (catered locally), two bounce houses and an inflatable obstacle course, a magic show and balloon animals (put on by attendees of our church), and a special shaved ice treat (made and catered locally). Throughout the summer, we’ll also be hosting monthly outdoor movie/dinner nights for families, a soccer camp for kids kindergarten through 6th grade, and a Vacation Bible School for kids kindergarten through 5th grade.
