Ignite Youth Leadership Conference started 9 years ago and many times as the founder, I get asked how. You might be surprised by the answer….keep reading.
Roughly 10 years ago I was hired as the Senior High Youth Pastor at a Grace Church in Des Moines. However, coming from a small church I was frustrated because I could not find a youth conference that volunteers, students and leaders could go to “all together”. And even though my youth budget was larger than most small churches, I couldn’t afford to send everyone to a large youth conference.
In addition, I was looking for a church based youth conference that wasn’t run by a company. Since there were not many options I decided to create a conference that offered these four key elements:
- A Youth Conference Led by Youth Workers and the Local Church
- Quality Training at an affordable cost
- Something the entire youth ministry could attend (volunteers, students, youth workers)
- A different Theme and New Topics every year – nothing is reused.
Ignite was born in by a group of local youth workers in 2004 and has grown to roughly 1500 people in 2012. Our history is the local church. We are an organization of mission minded youth workers, students, and families that all give to help youth ministries do better ministry.
With the support of the convention and a love of the small church – we invite you to join us! Don’t miss the “Spoken Word” artist, “Propaganda” or Randy Alcorn as he answers the tough questions about heaven. This conference is a “can’t miss” for your entire team.
This year’s dates are: March 15 & 16, 2013
Location: Grace Church 4200 East 25th St. Des Moines, IA.
If you need more promo material or handout registrations, you can contact the convention directly or download stuff off the website: www.ignite-youth.org
