This war hasn’t changed who God is

– Pastor Vitaliy Sorokun

At the 2022 BCI Annual Meeting, we had the privilege of hearing the powerful testimony of Ukrainian Pastor Vitaliy Sorokun. “Pastor V” is the pastor of New Hope Church in Kharkov, Ukraine, and the Eastern Europe and Soviet States Regional Director of Burnham Ministries International, a pastor and church leader training ministry.

“We are looking beyond the war. We are looking to the future. There will always be the need for humanitarian relief. There will be another hurricane, earthquake, or war somewhere else.” Even as his family fled the war in Ukraine, Pastor V’s thoughts remain focused on the Great Commission: “We may have war here right now. And this war may have changed our circumstances. But it has not changed who God is. Our God is still the God of the Great Commission.”
