Sam Porter, Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma Disaster Relief director, announces that the film documentary “Where was God?” is making its way outside Oklahoma. This story follows several families and individuals who recount the timeline of destruction and share their experiences of the devastating and miraculous events that changed their lives forever during the Oklahoma tornadoes of 2013. It will show in six states in March and is available for screenings by churches, pastors and individuals anywhere.
The intent of the producers in telling these stories of hope is to encourage believers and others who have suffered loss. It really is much more than a movie about tornadoes. The movie will touch anyone who walks in and sits to hear how “GOD shows up” during disasters of any kind.
Oklahoma Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is featured in the movie. Sam reported that they participated in the initial stages of the making of the film. He also says, “As a pastor and a state disaster relief director, I can fully recommend it to anyone and/or any church wanting to reach out to a hurting community.”
Any church or SBDR group can host a screening. Let us know. Public performance licenses are available.
