Who is helping your church go to the next level in multiplying disciples, churches, & mission?
Do you know a church that would be a good fit to join BCI? One way we want to multiply disciples, churches, and mission is by partnering together with like minded churches through affiliation. If you know of a like minded church that would be a good fit for affiliation, email us with the church contact information and we will begin the process.
We believe that ministry is not meant to be done in isolation. We know that ministry in the local church can be lonely and that those you lead are not always able to understand the unique challenges of ministry.
WE BELIEVE WE CAN DO MORE FOR THE GOSPEL BY PARTNERING TOGETHER
A state convention is an effective way to cooperate with like minded churches to further the Great Commission. Linking arms allows us to strengthen each other and to accelerate our investment in building Christ’s kingdom by pooling resources.
Know a Church that Should Join BCI?
Do you know a church that would be a good fit to join BCI? One way we want to multiply disciples, churches, and mission is by partnering together with like minded churches through affiliation. The process of affiliating with BCI has six basic steps outlined below. Visit the “Join BCI” webpage for the full process and a list of the many benefits of joining.
- CONTACT BCI TO DISCUSS AFFILIATION – The first step to affiliating with the Baptist Convention of Iowa is determining compatibility of doctrines and ministry practice.
- CONFIRM UNAFFILIATED STATUS – Inform your prior denomination or state convention office that your church wishes to no longer affiliate with them.
- OFFICIAL DECISION BY YOUR LEADERSHIP – Your church leadership team must officially vote to A) affirm the Baptist Faith and Message, B) affiliate with BCI, C) financially support the Cooperative Program.
- CONTACT BCI ABOUT DECISION – After your church leadership team makes an official decision, inform the BCI office of this decision.
- VERIFY SBC IDENTIFICATION NUMBER – If you do not already have an SBCID#, BCI will provide one and notify the SBC national office of change in state convention affiliation.
- AFFILIATION PROCESS COMPLETE – BCI staff will inform your church when the affiliation process is complete.
Don’t go it alone. Partner with like minded churches to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ together.
P.S. Do you know a like minded church that would be a good candidate for affiliating with BCI?
