The Salt Company in Indianola hosted our fall kickoff on Thursday, September 4.
We were part of a “Worship Fair” on the Simpson Campus during the day. We had our interns and other students host the booth in order to create an identity with those the visited. We believe that “Visibility creates Credibility” in the eyes of outside students. We try to get as much visibility with students on campus as we can.
We hosted the kickoff at the Friend’s Church where The Salt Companu (TSC) meets. We had a Pork Loin Supper provided by Iowa Select from 7-9 pm. We planned for 200 students to come and eat and get to know TSC staff and other New Heights Church staff. We were able to feed around 170 students and another 50 or so TSC/New Heights staff and friends.
Our initial worship celebration took place that night at 9 pm, with nearly 100 students in attendance. The musical worship was great, and the message was an introduction into who we are, what we do and why we do it. There was a great response from the group. The auditorium holds around 120, so we are pushing the limits of how many we can accommodate in that space.
We would not have been able to pull off this kickoff without the additional funds provided by the BCI, and other generous donations. Thank you for your generosity.
