Iowa Disaster Relief began work in Marshalltown on Monday June 24, just three days after the Iowa community was hit by a tornado.

A chainsaw team from Missouri began work on affected homes. Iowa volunteers are working with the chainsaw teams carrying limbs and debris to the curb or dumpsters.

Other volunteers are cooking food in the high school kitchen for Salvation Army to distribute to affected people through their mobile feeding trucks and also a school location. Volunteers are also helping at a booth at the MARC (Multiple agency resource center) which opened Tuesday to coordinate relief efforts.

Please pray for the individuals in the 758 residences that were damaged in the tornado. Of these damaged residences, 525 suffering major damage, 94 with minor damage and 58 affected with minimal damage..

Please pray for these families as many no longer have employment due to the loss of the Lennox plant and other businesses in town in addition to having a damaged home.
